I asked him where he was from. He answered in a friendly and respectful manner that he was a Kurd. Hiwa, a 23-year old Kurdish man from Erbil, showed me the scars on his ankles and wrists and healing wounds on his arms and neck. Every Kurd should carry a gun and prepare himself.
